ACTRI Recognized as a 2025 Incredible Workplace Champion

We’re excited to share that UC San Diego ACTRI’s CADRE Program has been named a 2025 Incredible Workplace Champion by the San Diego & Imperial Counties Community Colleges!

This new award honors local employers who go above and beyond to create positive, supportive, and people-centered work environments. The ACTRI CADRE Program was selected alongside ISAFE Enterprises, HealthCorps, and the Port of San Diego for their strong leadership in workplace excellence.

These awards were created by a coalition of education and workforce organizations, including the San Diego & Imperial Center of Excellence (COE), the Kim Center for Social Balance, and the Regional Consortium. Nominations were collected during the Fall 2024 semester from community members, students, faculty, and staff. A structured review process, based on the Kim Center’s LEAPS Assessment, ensured consistency and fairness in the evaluation.

According to Dr. Tina Ngo Bartel, Executive Director of the San Diego & Imperial COE, “The data clearly shows that strong workplace culture drives innovation, performance, and growth… This is about making sure every individual has an opportunity to thrive — and that our region’s economic future is shaped by a wide range of talents and experiences.”

The 2025 Incredible Workplace Champion Awards reflect goals outlined in the Vision 2030 roadmap from the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office. By recognizing employers that build positive environments, the initiative supports career education and long-term success for students across the region.
