UC BRAID and ACTRI
UC BRAID is a consortium of University of California campuses - Davis, Irvine, Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco - which receive funding from NCATS at the NIH. UC BRAID’s early successes in sharing data and infrastructure, such as the cohort identification tool UC ReX and streamlined research processes, serve as models of the shared benefit of a statewide collaboration.
SEE THE PARTNERSHIP @ WORK
In partnership with the UC BRAID consortium, the ACTRI sponsored a booth at the IRB professional trade association, Public Responsibility in Medicine & Research (PRIM&R), annual conference in Washington DC, to debut a low-cost, collegial, peer-review quality assurance program of IRB programs co-developed with Stanford University and the University of California (CARE-Q). The program supports SMART IRB requirements for quality assurance as a participating institution.

UCSD Office of IRB Administration
The UCSD Office of IRB Administration (OIA) exists to promote high quality, ethical research. The OIA does this by serving as the advocate for the rights and welfare of persons who participate in research programs conducted by UCSD faculty, staff, and students.
Consortium for Applied Research Ethics Quality (CARE-Q)
The Consortium for Applied Research Ethics Quality (CARE-Q) is a quality assurance program developed at the University of California and Stanford University to provide external, independent evaluation of IRB offices. Our goal is to assure that each IRB office has clearly written procedures for protecting human research participants that accurately conform to regulatory requirements and are being followed consistently.
